English Student Recognition Tea

April 24, 2010 Event Flyers/Reminders 0

Good morning, everyone,
If you have not yet picked up your new T-Shirt, the shirts are available in the English Office. Please come by and pick yours up and plan to wear it next Friday, the last day of classes. We will be having our English Student Recognition Tea at 2:30 next Friday afternoon. A number of student awards will be given, including the John Kerr Award to the outstanding English major, the Charles and Cornelia Smith Award to the outstanding English graduate student and the Christine Fall award to the outstanding Teaching Assistant. We will also recognize the outstanding Language and Linguistics major, the outstanding Professional Writing major, the officers and members of Sigma Tau Delta and the Literary Society and the winners of the Student Literary Contest and the prose and poetry awards in the Phoenix.
Immediately after tea, a red oak tree will be planted in Burleson Quadrangle in memory of our friend and colleague, Dr. Nancy Chinn.
I hope to see many of you at both these events.
