Oh, EGSA, you do NOT want to miss the Nydeggers’ amazing Christmas in July Party. I’m just sorry that my Mac seems to be incapable of forwarding the colors she used in her original email to me. It’s the (second) Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Unfortunately, this year we are (alas!) compelled to alter our Christmas in July plans. For a number of reasons, David and I just can’t have Christmas in July at our house this year. However, in honor of one of our favorite Christmas movies ever—The Santa Clause—we propose meeting for Christmas in July dinner at Denny’s on 9th Street next to Baylor.

I have attached a YouTube video of the Denny’s scene in The Santa Clause in case you don’t know what I’m talking about. (If you find Charlie completely irresistible after this scene and Tim Allen as hilarious as you remember him from Home Improvement, you are more than welcome to borrow our copy of The Santa Clause for your viewing pleasure.)

We’ve all been taught that no lesson is valuable unless you take what you have learned and apply it, right? Therefore, we want to take advantage of all the things we learned in The Netherlands to assert that our Denny’s dinner for Christmas in July will be Dutch treat. ☺

This is possibly a really terrible idea. I’m sorry if you think it is. If you don’t think it is and you want to join us, however, please let me know by Friday, July 23 so I can try to have an accurate number for seating purposes. We really hope to see you all there.

Where: At Denny’s on 9th Street near Baylor and next to La Quinta (NOT at the Nydegger’s house) Why: Because even though it’s not what you were expecting, it’s still Christmas in July!
