Bad Wine/Poetry

March 21, 2012 Event Flyers/Reminders 0

Greetings Dear Friends,

The leaves are budding, the birds are chirping, and all of nature is waking up from its winter nap. That can mean only one thing:

BAD WINE, BAD POETRY! Let the Beall Poetry Festival honor the Princes of Poetry, the Lords of the Lay, the Titans of the Trochee; at Bad Wine, Bad Poetry we gather to celebrate those poems that rise below mediocrity.

So, please join us this SATURDAY (MARCH 24) AT 7 PM AT THE HOME OF STEVE AND BETH PETERSHEIM (directions below). Please bring a bottle of the worst/cheapest wine you can find, and, if you would like, a terrible/awesomely bad poem to be read aloud during the competition portion of the evening. We will award prizes for worst found poem and worst original poem. So apart from finding the most dreadful published poem, go ahead and break out that dog-eared, tear-stained notebook from high school containing poems that captured all your adolescent yearnings and angst.

In addition, if you would like to bring a snack of some kind, we would be grateful.

As always, RSVPs are appreciated but not necessary (you can direct them to Virginia_Jarrell@baylor.edu). This is a super-fun EGSA tradition, so we hope to see you all there.

Sincerely,
Virginia and Ginger
