EGSA,

My humiliation at scorching the EGSA Appetize yesterday could not be greater. In an attempt to restore your confidence, I’m including not one but two images of funny street signs within the body of this email. They are pointless and are in no way meant as metaphors for graduate studies in English.

Announcements

Meeting to Determine Your Future

  • Next week there will be a meeting in which many important matters directly relevant to you will be discussed. You are not invited.
  • However, you will be represented by Nathan Kilpatrick and Michael Milburn. Please let them know if you have any pressing issues that should be brought to the attention of Dr. Barcus and Dr. Vitanza.
  • (Lest I cause mass panic, I should note that the four parties mentioned above meet regularly to determine your future. There is nothing singular about this particular meeting.)

Bible Study Group

  • Adam Marshall writes:
  • The EGSA Bible Study will be starting up again on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 7:00pm. Our first meeting will be at Adam and Brittany Marshall’s apartment, which is located at 2500 Marketplace Dr., Apt. 837, Waco, TX 76711. Please RSVP at Adam_Marshall@baylor.edu so that Adam can give you instructions on entering the complex.

“Who We Are” Updates

  • The forecasted horror of the last Digest being not enough to motivate some of you, we have set the default graduation date of all those who have not responded with their program information as 2013 and informed the GPD that he may reliably use that date to determine funding. (Not really.) We have also set your focus/concentration as Twilight Studies. (Really.) Should you wish to change your information, you may now do so yourself by clicking on the following link.

  • The alternate method of paying your $10 EGSA dues is giving it directly to Heidi Seelke.

Graduate Writing Center

  • Advanced graduate students are available to help you with your writing. Email them your paper at gwc@baylor.edu, and they will contact you to set up a one-hour appointment.
