EGSA Ingest 03.28.13
EGSA,
Please excuse me for intruding upon your palate early this week. Easter Break and an important RSVP request have necessitated it.

Important: RSVP for 3rd Annual Graduate Student/GPD Appreciation Picnic
- Express your appreciation for yourself/Dr. Barcus by eating free food from Jimmy John’s on Tues., 2 Apr., 11am-1pm, Burleson Quadrangle.
- But only if you RSVP to Julie Ooms (Julie_Ooms@baylor.edu). She needs to get an accurate count to the GSA, so please send her an email right now if you plan to attend.
- Well done, and welcome back.

Successful Book Sale
- Thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful EGSA book sale this year, and especially to Adam Marshall who organized it all.
- For those of you wondering what constitutes success in this endeavor, I’m happy to report that our stock of used bathroom readers, Christian dating manuals, kitten screensavers on CD-ROM, and outdated volumes of literary criticism is smaller. If our EGSA account is larger, that’s simply a bonus.
Upcoming Events
Downton Abbey, Tues., 2 Apr., 5:00-6:15pm, CS 101
- If the flier I saw when I took the CS elevator from the 4th floor to the 3rd is accurate, next Tuesday is the final viewing this semester.
SET: Assessing Creativity, Tues., 2 Apr., 11am-12pm, No location posted
- The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
- Who said it? No Internet searches.
- The secret to happiness is knowing how to bust your students when they try.
- Okay. That one was me.
Beall Poetry Festival, Wed. – Sat., 3-6 Apr.
- Here is the full schedule to our very fine annual poetry festival.
Seminar: Balancing Your Graduate Studies and Your Personal Life, Thurs., 4 Apr., 12:15-1:15pm, SUB Fentress Room
- Date only those who like to talk about literary criticism in their spare time.
- Or keep telling yourself that your relationship with Jane or Bill or Sam or Flannery or Geoff or that hobbit or Tom or Ezra or Cormac or Silvia is at least three times more authentic and fulfilling than any you can find online.
20CRS, Fri., 12 Apr., 2:30-3:30pm
