Looking to Rent? A Note from Yolanda Gonzalez of MCC
My husband and I are finally moving out of Waco, and our condo will be available for lease beginning in August. We’d love to rent it out to an English grad student or a friend/relation of someone in the department (you know, keep it in the family).
We’ve just set up a property management agreement with Carbajal Realty. Anyone who is interested in learning more about the property should contact them directly (phone #(254) 235-8343). So far as I can tell, the property is not yet listed on their website, so I’ve also included some property details below:
Location: Cobblestone III condos, within walking distance to campus
2 br, 2.5 ba
Small gated community
plenty of parking
stained concrete flooring downstairs
new kitchen appliances, hardware, countertops & backsplash new carpet on stairs and throughout upstairs newly remodeled bathrooms upstairs
Again, if you’re interested in more info, or you know someone who is, give Carbajal a call.

EGSA Minutes
Prez. Danielle has written up our EGSA Officer minutes from last week (attached) and I’ve written up minutes from the general meeting as well (also attached). There’s some good info in there, so don’t forget to read them!
EGSA Voting & Nominations
Nominations are due today (click here to nominate). Those who accept their nominations (I’ll let you know if you’ve been nominated) will have a chance to “campaign†by sending me a brief note regarding what you intend to do in the position (make all your wildest dreams come true, etc.). I will include these campaigns in next week’s digest (sarah_aspen@baylor.edu by Friday!) and on the voting page. Voting for chairs and officers will begin next Friday when I send the link for voting. We have a few real races, so stay posted.
In the Next Two Weeks (April 14-27)
PROFF Workshop: Primed for Success*
Tuesday, April 17 @ 3:30-5:00pm in TBD
Some new faculty enter their work situations and their careers are energizing and productive. Others become frustrated, unproductive, and “burn out” quickly, leaving behind a trail of effort without success and ill feelings toward institutions and often the whole idea of a profession in higher education. This session draws upon research and reflection upon these two disparate types of experience. What are the differences between these two types? There are skills and working styles evident in “quick starters” that you can use to help yourself as new faculty. *Registration Required
