EGSA Savor 05.03.13
EGSA,
It’s been a wild ride this year, by which I mean it’s been a lot of going to class, doing homework, and writing papers, theses, and dissertations, all in a fairly routine environment. But no matter what ups and downs or loop de loops you encountered, it’s just about time to pull into that unloading platform called Summer. You won’t have Digests to guide you, but you will have some free time, and you’ll be surprised what you can figure out on your own with that resource.
Before you disembark and if you can find some gratitude somewhere, please stop by CS 406 before 2:30pm today to sign Thank You cards for our supportive faculty and staff if you haven’t yet. There are fewer than ten to sign. And the standards for originality and creativity are low.
To those of you leaving EGSA, we wish you the very best in the real, terrifying world the rest of us are hoping to never encounter. Please send me your name so we can retire you from our email distribution lists and sell your information to a third party. To those of you who think you are leaving EGSA but don’t realize that you are automatically a member as long as you are a graduate student in the English department, enjoy the delusion while it lasts. We’ll still want your $10 in the fall. And to the rest of you, [insert some generic end-of-the-school-year, yearbook-signing-type comment here].
