Through H-net’s Southern Lit listserve, I heard about academia.edu, and I think it would be a good idea for us grad students to look into it. Academia.edu is a big-deal, new, global-I-think website on which you can enter your university affiliation and research interests, and you can use it to find other scholars working on the same or similar stuff. Their big claim to fame is that they have Noam Chomsky and Stephen Hawking and some other famous dorks. It also might be a good tool for future job-finding because you can upload C.V.s. I put Baylor’s English department on there today, so if you want, you can add yourself and your job and your thesis or dissertation title. And I bet we could use it to publicize the conference. Ideally, we would get some professors to put themselves on, too.
